Making God's Name Known
. . . by taking the Word to the world
Mount Calvary is committed to the Bible teaching that evangelism is the responsibility of every believer within the body of Christ. Not only are we commanded to spread the Gospel (Mark 16:15), but Scripture assumes that we will do so (Matthew 28:20). The presence of people living that have never heard of Christ is a matter that should weigh on every Christian conscience (1 Corinthians 15:34).
. . . house-to-house
In conformity with the Scriptural example, we have been committed to systematic house-to-house evangelism (Acts 20:20) as one of the means by which we obey the Lord in making His name known in the world.
. . . in the neighborhood of our church.
If you are looking for a regular opportunity to be involved in an organized evangelistic ministry, please prayerfully consider the opportunity to evangelize in the neighborhood around our church. In addition to our weekly door-to-door ministry, the Lord has enabled us to have multiple neighborhood Bible clubs for children, a weekly youth outreach, a Spanish ministry, a series of Project REACH efforts each year, and a Sunday morning Bible class.
20 Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square; 21 At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings: 22 "How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. . . . 33 But he who listens to me shall live securely and will be at ease from the dread of evil."Proverbs 1:20-33
One tool we often use is a simple evangelistic Bible study that spans the seven lessons listed below:
